We have developed a brand new service for teenagers aiming to improve core stability, flexibility and balance. A full professional assessment and screen allows us to tailor to each teen’s needs and goals for any level of fitness. We are lucky to have Sonam Jethwa, a Physiotherapist who has worked with Commonwealth Games athletes, bringing her elite experience to the program and Mark Zampatti who has worked with The Geelong Falcons and Geelong Football Club as well as coaching children in football at Irrewarra Beeac and basketball in the local domestic competition.

Injury Prevention

Did you know that the most common injuries in Football are hamstring tears and torn ACL’s? Did you know that Basketball has the highest incidence of ACL ruptures out of any sport? You may have guessed the most common netball injury is a sprained ankle!

Did you know these injuries are largely preventable?

Poor strength in some muscles groups, and lack of flexibility in others, reduced balance, poor landing and jumping techniques or incorrect biomechanics can all lead to injury.

We believe prevention is better than cure, especially when it’s from injuries that can potentially take you out of the game you love. A full assessment allows us to identify any increased risk you have to injury and tailor a program to give you awesome results.

Enhanced Performance

Increasing strength, particularly core strength greatly improves efficiency on the field or court. We have brand new state of the art equipment that allows us target the important deeper muscles to give you increased balance and control.

Increased Fitnes

 For optimal health teens need to get at least one hour of exercise daily. Scarily statistics show that a lot of teenagers don’t achieve this. These classes can also help with weight management. Teenage obesity has risen dramatically and has severe health consequence including chronic diseases and lowered self esteem. There is no better way to increase your confidence then by feeling strong and centred.

Studies show that teenagers with good fitness habits are more likely to exercise and be healthy as adults. These small groups are perfect for otherwise inactive teens, or those who don’t enjoy sport, to exercise in a safe and fun environment. We will tailor a fun achievable program to suit your needs.

When? School Terms  Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm

Where? Corio Bay Sports Treatment Clinic Gym 26 Miller Street Colac

How Much? $220 for a 10 week term. As this class is supervised by qualified Physiotherapists it can be claimed on Private Health Insurance. A comprehensive assessment and risk screen will allow you to get the most out of the class and for us to tailor the program specifically to you at the cost of a normal physiotherapy appointment. Getting your money’s worth Private Health ancillaries are replenished in January.
