Are your TEENS getting enough exercise?
By Physiotherapist Lachy Theodore
TEENS ABCS are BACK
We are living in an age where technology has taken over so much of our time.
Kids are spending more time in front of televisions and IPADs.
We can probably all agree this has been exacerbated by COVID.
Home-schooling and the closure of sports venues, competitive sports, pools and recreation facilities has fuelled the problem.
HOW MUCH EXERCISE IS ENOUGH?
Children aged 5-17 should accumulate at least 1 HOUR of physical activity PER DAY!
In 2010, it was reported that less than 30% of children aged 5-17 were achieving the recommended daily physical activity levels.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF EXERCISE FOR KIDS?
Benefits Of Exercise Classes

HOW CAN PHYSIOTHERAPY HELP?
At Corio Bay we have brought back our beloved TEENS ABCs which is a group class that aims to improve core stability, flexibility and balance in teenagers.
A full professional assessment and screen allows us to tailor to each teen’s needs and goals for any level of fitness.
WHY JOIN THE TEENS CLASS?
With the start of the football and netball season on the horizon, sporting injuries during the early part of the season are very common.
Made worse with COVID – the level of inactivity in our children is increasing, which means that when they start back up with sports there is an increased risk of injury.
