Brooke Hardisty

Women’s Health Physiotherapist

Brooke is our newest physiotherapist, joining us once a fortnight, with a special interest in women’s pelvic health and continence concerns.

Brooke graduated from La Trobe University Melbourne in 2015 and has since been working in the public sector in Ballarat working across a variety of areas, before settling into the pelvic health field. She continues to work in their continence and pelvic pain specialist clinics once a week. Brooke grew up in Colac all her life, so is glad to be returning to working in the local area, and seeing familiar faces again. Brooke now has a busy young family to run around after with a husband and two kids under 4, so is very realistic in her approach to physiotherapy, wanting to provide her clients with skills and advice they can bring into their lives easily.

Brooke finds the field of pelvic health expansive and very rewarding and is wanting to break down the barriers for women accessing support for these often unspoken about health issues. There is a lot of shame and stigma associated with women’s health and continence issues, and Brooke strives to ensure her clients feel comfortable discussing these topics and accessing the help they need. Brooke will see women from age 16 onwards, and well into older age past the menopausal period.

Common concerns/conditions Brooke can help with include:

– Antenatal and postpartum support with aches/pains, incontinence, safe exercising levels, preparing for labour, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor advice/assessment and abdominal separation.

– Management and treatment for incontinence, bladder issues, bowel dysfunction and
prolapse across the lifespan

– Chronic pelvic pain such as endometriosis or bladder pain syndrome.

– Sexual pain conditions

– Pelvic floor rehabilitation pre and post gynaecological and urological surgeries.
